01Start with one identifiable test.
Choose an agreed test recipient and a unique synthetic reference. Record the form URL and submission time. Follow that reference through the browser result, application logs and receiving mailbox. Without correlation, a nearby successful email can be mistaken for the message being investigated.
02The browser proves what a visitor saw.
A confirmation message or redirect shows that the page reached its expected visible state. Capture that state and the submission response. This does not independently establish that WordPress processed the correct test or that an email reached anyone.
03WordPress acknowledgement proves application processing.
LeadUptime can correlate a supported form submission with the plugin acknowledgement. Read the processing status as well as the acknowledgement: an unknown delivery state must remain unknown. The browser success criterion and WordPress evidence should agree before describing the form path as passed.
04Mail transport and inbox receipt need separate evidence.
WordPress documents that a true wp_mail() return value does not establish recipient receipt. A provider acceptance response is another intermediate result. To establish arrival, find the exact test message in the controlled receiving mailbox and record its timestamp; check junk folders when investigating a missing message.
05Tracking and CRM are additional destinations.
An observed browser event does not prove an analytics platform has reported a conversion. A CRM record must be checked independently when that stage is configured and qualified. Report which destinations were observed, which were not configured and which were never reached.
06Write a bounded conclusion.
An example report can say: browser confirmation observed; matching WordPress acknowledgement received; test message found in the controlled mailbox. Label this as one test on one configuration. It does not prove delivery to every provider or establish future availability. LeadUptime’s current qualification work uses synthetic fixtures; a completed 24-hour result must wait for the whole observation window.
